Who We Are

For more than 10 years, Paragrid™ has helped government, education, healthcare and corporate clients implement cloud computing and virtualization solutions, either within their own cloud or by leveraging Paragrid's Everyware virtualization services within the Paragrid™ cloud.

The company's proven methodology harnesses the power of industry-leading virtualization providers to create a portable data platform. This portable data platform, referred to as Virtual SODA, "bottles up" a customer's environment – operating systems, applications, storage and even desktops – and makes it available from anywhere in the world. Paragrid™ consultants implement custom virtualization solutions for organizations seeking business continuance and disaster-recovery planning or for those looking to increase productivity by supporting a location-independent workforce.

Management Bios

Dave Samic - Principal, Director of Technology

Samic is a cloud computing thought leader and his experiences have made him a sought-after speaker throughout the United States. He coined the phrase "Data Portability" and believes that data becomes static and needs to be kept fresh, and on the move. Samic leads, guides, and speaks to other professionals on concepts of better data management and portability.

Samic came to be known as a virtualization guru by local and national industry leaders for his work at a regional bank where he took their infrastructure to the virtual frontier well ahead of the curve and saved the organization hundreds of thousands of dollars in capital expenses in the process.

Samic was graduated from the University of Akron with an Information Technology degree and holds numerous technical certifications. Samic also has numerous certifications in the field of public safety, and consults with a number of municipalities on how to apply cloud computing and virtualization technologies to enhance public safety.

Ryan Berg - Principal, Director of Business Development

Berg handles the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the organization. Berg is also responsible for building a business model that is responsive to customer needs and that will ensure the company's growth.

Prior to joining Paragrid™, Berg spent seven years at CDW where he was awarded the President's Achievement award for five of those years for excellence in sales performance. During his tenure, Berg was a founding member of their first healthcare vertical team. He helped start their field sales division, then known as CDW Select, by establishing the Cleveland-based market and, in his last role, Berg worked with a team of Inside Account Managers to develop Enterprise accounts.

Berg attended the University of Dayton where he earned a bachelor's degree in Finance. He is currently pursuing his MBA at John Carroll University.

John Headlee - Director of Hosting Operations

Headlee's dedication to process and runbook documentation streamlines the collaboration of talent necessary for development of advanced enterprise custom applications and hosting solutions.

Headlee has been in the hosting arena since the Internet burst onto the scenes in the early '90s, moving from Case Western, where he attended undergrad, to several large custom application builds and further honing his Internet application knowledge and hosting skills with a startup medical handheld software company. Headlee then ran the hosting division of DigiKnow, an online marketing player in the national media market hosting clients such as Waste Management, Gold's Gym, the Cleveland Browns and Scientific Games.

Headlee then joined Paragrid™ to bring the operational expertise of running large geographically dispersed data centers, and the COBIT, PCI, HIPAA and SAS experience to the management team.
